Vortec swap questions

My parts list includes:
New intake
New cam and timing set
Vortec heads
New gasket set
Bolt and fastener set
Here's my questions:
Can I use a flat tappet cam and lifters with the vortec heads?
Also will my lo5 headers work with the new vortec heads?
And what kind of hp/torque numbers will this engine has when I'm done with the swap?

Ok, ill take a stab here. Im assuming you are talking about a 350 TBI engine, that you want to put vortec heads on. You say new cam, but what is it? Stock? As for running a flat tappet cam with vortec heads, yes that is no problem. Your headers will bolt up and work fine, however you will not have the line for the EGR to work with vortec heads. So you will either need to delete the EGR and have it tuned out, or drill a hole and weld a bung in the exhaust to hook up the EGR that way. Brandon
