are there any cool aftermarket valve covers that will fit i’ve heard the ac compressor is the main issue for taller ones? stock 5.7 vortec 99 tahoe
I've been looking at some on LMCtruck.com, they are reasonably priced and look pretty cool. Plan on buying a set soon as my valve cover gasket is a little leaky

The early lt1 corvette valve covers are magnesium which is kinda cool
GM has switched back and forth between magnesium and aluminum.

The metals pour and shrink about the same, so the same molds can be used for either. Seems to me the covers have two part numbers cast into the underside--one number for magnesium, another for aluminum.

I've heard of the early LT-1 covers being made from magnesium--but every one I've seen has been aluminum.

The later, mid-80's covers were also said to be magnesium, but again I think that most are aluminum.

All the ones I have seem to be too heavy for magnesium.
