TV cable adjustment

Guys

How can I tell if my TV cable is properly adjusted. My transmission seems to shift alright but I lose a lot of speed going up hills even if i hold the accelerator steady. Not sure if they are related but I heard that the tv cable affects your shifts and if not adjusted properly can destroy the transmission.

with the truck off
press the button on the tv cable hold it,now put throttle at WOT then let go of both and ull be where it shold be from the factory

Yes, but push the button, then push in the pintle shaft on the cable, then let go of the button, then slowly take your throttle to WOT it will rachet out as only as much as needed.

I also should have said this is for 700R4 only.
