Hey Guys,

I searched quite a bit but couldn’t find a real answer.

I have a 95 350 5.7 TBI with about 70k miles.

Truck ran great but nothing was ever changed in 25 years so I figured I would do a little tune-up.

I replaced the distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires (haven’t got to changin the plugs yet but it’s on the list). After the change the truck runs like crap with some sort of misfire or something. Is it possible I got some bad replacement parts? They are all AC Delco parts but who knows.

Thanks!

It was a bad wire for those interested. I may have gotten fake AC Delco from Amazon. The little metal clips inside the boots were all stretched out and wouldn’t make good contact.
That or possibly some that were messed up and returned, then re-sold.

Make sure wires 5 & 7 are not running parallel to each other. At some point they need to cross. Crossing will stop the crossfire potential.
