well me and my brother were arguing about something so i figured i'd ask on here.

i've always thought that changing the fluid in an old transmission would mess something up. (if it hasn't been changed in forever)

am i right or wrong?

The age ane mileage has alot todo with it. I dont reccomend flushing at all, If it has never been sreviced then i would not even drop the pan.

The seals in the transmission may not seal with new fluid, the old fluid is a little thicker which actually helps maintain pressure.
But ive seen people get away with doing it and ive also seen them not even back out of the shop after a fluid and filter change.

I have never liked the idea of flushing a trans. Its better to drop the pan and change the filter. If anything it will help the way it shifts and wont hurt a thing
