I've got an 89 K2500 pickup. 5.7L motor. Like 212k miles.. Recently got this truck for plowing my driveway. Saw there was a spring rigged up, hooked up to the throttle lever and bracket on the front of the motor. Took it off, stepped on the gas pedal, and it won't idle down. (had a feeling that was going to happen. Just wanted to verify). Sometimes, even with the spring on, it still hangs up. Especially when the engine is cold.

Can the spring on the throttle body/throttle shaft be replaced? Or is the the throttle shaft bushings?

If I were to look for a used replacement, what years will work without having to change the ECM? or any other sensors,etc.. direct bolt in.

Thanks
Appreciate it.

Try pulling the cables and see if it still hangs up. Sometimes the problem isn't the throttle body.
