What would happen if I didn't connect that ground? it needs to be soldered and put back the right way just curious.

Too late. (probably a good thing) connected it right here http://s1337.photobucket.com/user/Wes_Best/media/21408400004_large_zpsff38f42a.jpg.html (Not my engine). Alligator clips come in handy! Trucks running ok I'll definitely be able to make it to the shop tomorrow. Thanks guys so much!

Made it there and the instructor wouldnt even touch it! Guess I'll be going to a local shop for their opinion the only thing I can think of is I got the wrong part?
