Wh4t3v3rs is a 98 Chevy short bed that's receiving a 6.0l turbocharged LS swap with a goal of 850hp and a mid to low 5 second 1/8 mile, all while retaining power steering and A/C.

My LS is a LQ4 truck 6 liter with a stock bottom end. I will use the LQ4 heads with the Brian Tooley v2 trunnion upgrade and platinum double springs. I opted for the BTR stage 2 turbo camshaft and a LS2/tbss intake. To help the beast breath, I'm using a 68mm VS Racing turbocharger. To get it down the road, I chose the 4l80e and a Ford 9".

So as of right now that is all the parts I have purchased and have come in. As we all know, money determines how quickly things happen. I'm posting a pic of the truck the day I got it, as the before build pic and of the equipment as I purchase it.

Well, I had my morning appointment cancel today, so I had a couple extra hours to work.
A little recap, I'm building a 6.0l LS motor with a stock bottom end. Today I will be working with the heads. I retained the stock 317 heads but opted for a BTR trunnion upgrade and platinum double springs. I got one of the heads tore down, replaced the springs mounts and valve stem seals. My spring compressor wasn't able to compress the extra large double springs, so I have to order a new one. So, I skipped ahead and started the trunnion upgrade. I have one head ready for springs, and one head left to do.....

Well, this week was more about getting the essentials then about getting cool stuff. I finally got my LS7 lifters and trays from back order and all my gaskets to assemble the motor. I got the new spring compressor ordered and it is suppose to arrive on Monday. Once I have that, I will finish the heads, install the camshaft, install the ARP head studs, and assemble the motor. Hopefully have a rotating assembly by the end of the week!!!!!

I got a some time to start assembling the motor. I got my cam and lifters installed (BTR and LS7 spec summit), my ARP head bolts, and one head set on awaiting torque.

For all you mad scientist and nerds (yes I'm included), I'm including a pic of the cam spec card that came with my BTR cam.....

Well, I'm trying to multi task..... To recap, I have a big bearing late style Ford 9" and this morning I got it out and got it all cleaned up and painted. I chose the Strange nodular S case with a 3.250 carrier. This will allow me to use Strange 35 spline axles. When I get ready to install, I'll cut the perches and mounts off and install them. This is my first Ford rearend in a GM vehicle, so I'm not cutting anything untill I'm 100%!!!!!
