My truck revs up a little bit before shifting gears could this be the issue? It's a 700r4 in a tbi truck

Mine does that as well. Sounds like it hits neutral for a split second. Goes from about 2800 rpms to about 3000 then down when it shifts

This^^^ is usually caused by low line pressure. The tv cable controlls when it shifts, not how it shifts.

The TV cable directly affects the line pressure of the transmission. This is why its adjustment is so critical - too "loose" and the pressure is too low, and the transmission will slip itself to death.

Right, but if it shifts at the correct rpm, the line pressure issue lies elsewhere.

I'm not too well versed in automatic transmissions. But I encountered a similar issue in a Ford transmission and change the filter made it go away.
