subaru Legacy L problem

im working on a '95 subaru Legacy L wagon for a guy and the problem is that the car will start and run once but then when it gets turned off and sits it just cranks over like its not getting gas. then if it sits for a long period it will start again. if anyone knows what to look at or consider, it would help.

Fuel pump? I had a Mustang years ago ran great but when youd park it sometimes it wouldn't start would have to let it sit ended up being a bad fuel pump

Coil may be bad, they can do that when parked. Heat soak can get them hot, and after they cool, they will fire again. Check for fire when it won't start to verify if you have a fire or fuel problem.

Yep, check if it's a spark or fuel delivery problem.
I would bet it's the fuel pump.
Easy fix. There's a fuel pump access panel under the carpet in the back hatch area (usually behind the rear seat).
You should be able to buy just the pump instead of the entire pump assembly.

Crankshaft position sensor. Had the same prob with my 92 it's very common.
