man......me and you is thinking about the same like........THIS is on my bucket list too. getting the rust off my chassis is paramount in my mind for the spring.

Yeah, all the crap they put on the roads nowadays... I miss the old days where cities/towns were required by law to only use a 90% sand/10% salt mix...

Are these 96-98 K1500 LCAs in the picture? The forged LCAs look just the picture listed for 2000 K2500 LCAs on RockAuto.

The forged LCAs came on the '98 and '99 K2500 with the K designating 4wd. Aside from the obvious benefits, the not so obvious benefit is that the forged LCA allows a tighter turning radius. A '94 K2500 with stamped steel LCAs has a turning radius of 47.7'. A '99 K2500 Suburban has a turning radius of 43.4'.

I just harvested a pair of forged LCAs from a '99 K2500 to install on my son's '94 K2500 with 6.5 diesel power. I have a '99 K2500 with 6.5 diesel. The differences in steering radius is readily apparent.

The arms are not necessarily the reason for the smaller turn radius. They changed the spindles as well, in 98'.
