So based upon my neighbor/State Inspectors recommendation, I replaced the Pitman arm/Idler arm. I'd say that it feels about 60% better. The problem that I have now is that when I turn the wheel to the right, nothing happens unless I turn the wheel about an inch more to the right.
So if I have the steering wheel centered, response to the left is instant when turning it to the right but not so when I turn it to the right. Tie rod ends have very little play. Ball joints are fine.
I no longer feel unsafe driving this truck a mile to the local dump but would like to get this right.
Any ideas what this could be?
Thanks!
