Sort of,there is an adapter labeled ''MULTI-1'' which you will need to access either the ABS or the Trans,can't remember which.The scanner will tell you which one it needs.This applies to the OBD1 adapter,not sure if the OBD2 does as I don't use mine for '96 or newer vehicles I have an Autel for those.

BTW have your vin handy cuz the scanner mightl ask for certain characters in it.

If you did not get the instructions or operating manual, they're a free download on the Snap On Web site. Or do you not use the instruction manual. 96 and is OBD 2.

Yup,should.You'll need the trans adapter to see what's up with the trans.

More interested in just scanning engine data and finding out why my truck is Stumbling and Hesitation were under load and take off and backing off the throttle. Has no codes either
