I have an issue with the passenger side seat belt in the '95 Cheyenne. It simply won't move. I took it out to look at it and after fiddling with it I can get the belt to move but when it retracts, it won't move again without moving the metal clip.

Anyone have any idea what it going on?

Thanks,

Ray

There are small counterweights inside the assembly that cause the lockup. It's possible if the interior has seen a lot of debris at some point (or flooded), that they may be gummed up and unable to move properly. Also maybe possible if the truck went a very long time without the passenger belt being used.

You can try popping the cover off the assembly to check it out/clean it up, move it around to see if the counterweights are free or stuck somehow.
