At the end of deer season about 5 months ago my driver side door handle broke off. and yester day i figured i have enough time to replace it, thinking it would take a couple hours, and so i did and it only took about 30 minutes. Tools i used: two flat head screwdrivers, a drill, a 3/16'' metal drill bit, and extension cord. Part list: replacement door handle and self setting screw. i started by removing the two screws in the arm rest on the door, next i removed the panel with the power window and door lock controls and disconected them. next i removed the plastic trim/ cover around the door handle assembly. next i removed the plastic corner piece at the top of the door panel. Next i used the screwdrivers to work around the door panel, being careful as not to break any of the plastic tabs, as these tend to break easy. After i removed all the tabs i moved the door panel up and slipd the clips along the top off the metal. Now is when you use the drill, i drilled out the rivet and slid the assembly forward to pop it out of the tabs, next i removed the metal hook attachments from the door handle and power lock by pulling up. Then i romoved the assembly and got my new one. I attached the door handle and power lock attachments and slid the clips into the slots and got my self setting screw and drilled it in where the rivet was. Next i got my door panel and slipped the clips on top down over the metal and pushed all the plastic tabs along the door panel edge back in, then reattached the corner piece at the top. next i put the plastic trim/cover back on and then put the two screws back into the armrest. sorry for the lack of pictures, as i tore into the door i forgot to snap pics and sorry i couldnt get more detailed pics of the steps.
