For the 96+ steering wheel column covers (not sure if it applies to earlier years), the steering column covers are prone to breaking, as we all know. I have some covers on hand that have not broken, and I'd like to prevent them from breaking. I was thinking about getting some J-B Weld (i.e., epoxy) and coating (with a brush) the inside of the covers, including along the locations where the screws fasten into.
Once the J-B Weld dries, I think it would provide more support to the areas that are more prone to breaking.
Is this a good idea? Any cons to it?
