Patch a small hole in a catalytic convter

It's not on my truck, but same same for exhaust so I figured I would ask here as SOMEONE has to have experience with this kind of thing.

There's a pinhole leak on the cat in my '05 Toyota Matrix. I am looking for a literal bandaid fix here. I would just weld it, but there's no way to get my welder to the hole, and the bolts attaching the downpipe to the manifold are rusted on there bad, and I fear an extraction project would lead to something far more complicated.

So I'm looking for a quick easy half @$$ fix to get me by.

I see a variety of "muffler tape" and "exhaust patch" stuff all over, has anyone used any of these products with some level of success?

I've used it a few times. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not-so-much.
