I know this is usually a big nono... But my driveshaft has a lot of surface rust and I am redoing everything else. Has anyone ever sprayed the rear driveshaft with rattle can spray paint or any other types? Will it through the balance off?

Thanks, jmlea0

I rattle can my under side about every other year on my pickup including my drive shafts. Ive never experienced any ill effects from it. I think it would take a lot of paint to throw it off balance. You will be fine

lol, you would have to put a ton of paint on it to throw off the balance

I would agree. Paint should be OK. In my opinion the rust would do more to throw it off than the paint.

well, if you only plan to put about an inch deep paint on one spot you might not be within specs.....

Paint is fine.
