Hello all,

Recently acquired a 96 GMC K1500 Suburban. Rebuilt the motor and everything been going well so far except for a couple things. I keep getting a CEL from code P0441. I have changed the gas cap, the solenoid and the purge valve. After solenoid replacement it stayed away for a while but it's back. Don't know where to go from here. Aby help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brendon

well, now that you've blindly replaced things take it to a shop (unless you have the tools of course), have an emissions/vaccum fog or smoke test done, whatever they wanna call it. find the leak. the only way to do it unless you can visually see something broken that could cause it. other than that youve wasted some money throwing random things at it.

one of my all time favorites were the people with the same issue who kept coming back for gas caps 9.5/10 times it never was. the probability was always extremely low for the people who continuously came in. idk who made up that myth but geez.

The 96 service manual (PDF) can be downloaded here:

Here is the P0441 diagnostic table, maybe it will help.
