Any more pics on using those 18 inch stock wheels from post #89? I am running 306/70/16 on American Racing Rims Baja. with a 4 inch lift. 4.11 gears. I used the Superchips Programmer mostly for adjusting the tire size and gear ratios. Thinking of getting this type of rims but the programmer only changes tire size circumference. I cant change rim size from 16 to 18. Is this going to be a problem or do i adjust circumference with superchips just so i can get the speedo correct?

You wouldn't have to change the speedo if you find the same tire height and width, rim size doesn't usually matter, i.e. a 265/75r16 is the same as a 265/65r18, same height and width. I am not sure what an equivalent 305/70r16 in an 18" would be.

I do believe you are correct on that rim size dont matter. Looked up a tire conversion on tiresize.com for 305/70/16. Straight up changing from 16 to 18 with everything else the same the width is 12 inches, the diameter goes from 32.8 to a 34.8 means i have to use the superchips to adjust that. If i go to a 65 is a diameter of 33.6 or 60-32.4. I dont want to go smaller. Next is a 315/65/18 or 315/60/18. The increase using the last two is a width of 12.4 inches vs the 12 inches with a 305. The two sizes i can see are 315/60/18 cause the diameter is 32.9 but with a 12.4 inch width and the other is the 305/65/18 which is a bigger diameter but just as wide as my original and dont have to worry about any rubbing.

I'm pretty sure the width doesn't matter at all. The diameter is the important dimension.

That's what I would do, I'd go with a 305/65r18, it's just a tick taller, so you probably wouldn't have to adjust anything. If you wanted to, it looks like tiresize.com is telling me that it is about 33.6" vs 32.8" of the 305/70r16.

the concern on the width is that it doesnt rub on something are makes my turn smaller that what it is. Heck most ppl were surprised i got that size in with out lifting the truck up first. the 305/65/18 is my first choice and then the 315/60/18. but its all up to who makes what and at what price. Discount Tire only has 2 tires that they can order in a 305/70/16 a pro comp and something else. Its slim pickens on that aspect but i have always used procomp after the original wranglers were done. Gona check on that size now.
