How hard is it to convert a 4wd tranny to 2wd?

The tail housing is different between 2wd and 4wd, youre better off getting a 2wd trans and driveshaft than converting the trans.

The tail shaft housing and the tail shaft are different. It's much easier to find a 2wd trans and swap that in. Although the conversion can be done, you will probably end up paying the same or more to convert as you would to just replace.
