Just bought me a 96 GMC SL and loving the truck. I'm a retired chief mechanic for 6th generation drill ship. Wasn't real happy with the stock seat and got to looking and found this forum with some great info. Just scored me a set of 97 Bonneville bucket seats for $12.91. Pull your own parts had 50 percent off today. I already had one set of risers a buddy gave me from his bench set and will use mine to complete the install. Got to clean seats good and will probably dye them. Kinda of a tan color seat and going grey with them. Now to figure out what console to install. Any help here appreciated. Looking forward to reading and chatting with the guys/gays here.

Glad to have you here David! Sounds like a cool project, you'll have to post up some pics when you get those seats installed!

Welcome to the forum. I also worked offshore. Worked out there for 32 years, following those old drilling rigs around the GOM. Welded out there for 25 of those years. As for your console choices, well there are a ton of options. You could even build your own. Post up some pics as you go along.
