New alternator whining/supercharger noise.

In it's defense I was running under drive pulleys but no aftermarket electronics, stereo etc.

Ugh. My Mustang's on its fourth or fifth alternator, and it squeaks. Some engineer found they could get a .001% increase in fuel economy if they put a one-way clutch in the alternator pulley. The clutches either squeak or they crap out altogether. I've put Motorcraft and brand-x Chinesium in it, and none of them last more than a couple years.

Haven't driven mine much over the last few years but if I did I'm sure I'd be dealing with the same thing.
First Motorcraft battery and alt lasted over 10 years, 85k miles...
Car has 105k on it but last 8 years been threw a few batteries and a couple alternators ...
Stuff doesn't last or maybe just my poor maintenance habits? I dunno...
