Yes it has the stock valve train in it now.
When engine was first installed it had an adjustable valve train with roller rockers.
About a week after first start i removed that and put the stock setup on it thinking maybe something weird was going on with that. Changed nothing.
Here is a log from first dead cold start to back in the driveway hot key off is you would like a look.
So when you had the adjustable set up, you had stiffer springs? Where they sized for roller rockers? Don't the heavier rockers need more spring rate?

If you had different sets of springs, are you still on the same lifters?
Seems like the only thing you hadn't tried yet.

I don't see weak springs posing a problem at low RPM. I forget though, is it a stock replacement cam or something a little spicier? I googled that part number and found nothing.
ES-5183 is what he said it was on the invoice, also specs are unknown as far as I know.
I tried googling that number and came up with nothing

The roller rockers were used with stock springs. Cuz running low on cash and figured in a few months upgrade.
Plan was to now have a Comp cam XE-01-412-8 and lifters, Rotator eliminators and beehive springs. Have not been able to do that because fighting the miss.
Here is the cam.

Watching youtube vids sure makes me wish i had a Scannerdanner or Pine Hallow diagnostics guy near me!
Anyway.
Here is something else i just discovered. Probably a Dash command problem but maybe not?
For what ever reason i wanted to see the misfire counts when i unhooked each plug wire i got misfires as i expected, But
The odd thing was when i unhooked #1 it registered as #2 and #2 registered as #1 all the other cylinders registered properly.

Here are current misfire counts on cold engine with #1 & #2 corrected.
1: 4____2: 0
3: 30___4: 6
5: 22___6: 14
7: 10___8: 2
Here is warmed up just around the block.
1: 2____2: 5
3: 0____4: 2
5: 0____6: 0
7: 7____8: 0

THAT is certainly strange.

Makes me all the more certain you need a crank relearn before trusting the data you're getting. Since the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, I see you're data like this-

1: 4 / 8: 2 / 4:6 / 3:30 / 6:14 / 5:22 / 7:10 / 2: 0

So it's still seems like ignition to me.

I can't get a relearn done till Friday probably.
It was running about the same as it is now a few weeks ago with the black box and crank relearn was done.

"So it's still seems like ignition to me."

Yeah, that is why i was asking if there was anyway at all to be a tooth off and still get CMP set correctly.
Let me show you a few pics.
1st new distributor.

The first pic is with the dots lined up to the marks on the distributor body
The second & third pic show where the rotor points with the dot lined up with the body.
Pic 4 & 5 show where 1 pointing at TDC is on the old distributor.
From what i have read it looks 1 or 2 teeth off but CMP is set correct to specs?
