I had one on my 95 Camaro Z/28 and i had alot of intermittent misses and a stumbling idle issue. Replaced it with a OEM one and all the issues went away...ran the stocker even with a forged 383 with 125 wet shot for over 70 passes down the strip.

I think you have to run thinner copper wires to compensate for the hotter spark. Otherwise it won't run right. I dunno, read that somewhere.

The issue may be with the ignition module not allowing proper charge time or its "gate" bleeding through with the increased resistance required to create the higher secondary voltages. It could possibly be your plug wires if they are not new or decent quality. The voltages could be leaking to ground and causing the issues.

I have an Accel Super Coil in the HEI on my 84 Camaro and it has never causes issues. I am planning on trying an Accel on my Sierra as well when I do the tune-up. I run NGK plugs and Accel's 8mm custom fit plug wires on it as well.

As TerryD says could be the ignition module I ran the MSD coil for over a year without any problems then put in a Billet Dizzy and it ended up blowing the ignition module. OF course reading about the issues with the coil I picked up a new one and tried that first with no luck.

My factory coil went out and I almost bought a MSD coil but I just got a cheap one from Oriellys to make sure that's what was wrong with my truck.

I could've sworn you had a problem with them on one of your trucks.... O well...: shrug:
