Good afternoon guys and girls. I have both a '97 pickup and a '99 suburban. The pickup is my "decent toy" and the suburban is just a crapper that I use to get from home to work and back. It's sets out in all the weather and heat and dust and humidity and basically gets ruined, so I just try to "keep it alive". Both vehicles have the original poppet injection and FPR. I replaced the fuel pump in the suburban around 10 years ago, and now it's having funky fuel pressure issues that I think are stemming from the FPR (or the poppet system). The pickup (with 130,000 miles on it) has no issues, so I'm thinking of buying the upgraded delco injection system for it, and taking all the old system from the pickup and putting it in the suburban, to keep from putting any more money into it than necessary. It only gets maybe 100-150 miles/month put on it at most, so hopefully that'll keep the ole rag alive for a few more years on the cheap. Are there any differences (between the '97 and the '99 that would keep this from working? I realize there are a few differences in the trans and the ecm, but are the injection systems exactly the same? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and input.
