For anyone with a GMT400 who wants middle row bucket seats - I came up with a solution that I haven’t been able to find posted anywhere. Was a bit of a pain, no where near plug and play but well worth it. They recline, slide forward and back, and have arm rests. Plus you can pull them out or reinstall them in a matter of seconds.
Grabbed some seats and brackets from a 2001 Mazda MPV in a junk yard. Had to modify the brackets (used the driver side brackets from two vans, passenger side brackets would not work). Used a ton of washers, steel spacers, and some 16 gauge sheet metal to get the brackets mounted securely.
I was able to reuse 5 of the original seat bolt holes. For the remainder of the 25 bolts I put some steel plates underneath the floor as reinforcement so the bolts can’t rip through the floor in an accident.
I did this while also adding insulation and new carpet, so there’s no sign of the original holes in the carpet.
