Keyless Fob Up/Downgrade

Is there a way to program this style key fob

In place of this style

I have the second style for my 2000 C3500 CCLB and would like to use the first style if possible. I seem to remember having the first style on my 96 ECSB.

The top key fob is for 96 and older trucks, so I don't think they'll work. In 97 they went to the round style key fob.

THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. I OWN A 96,97,98, AND 3 99'S.
