Just replace start question

So I just replaced my starter , and the one that came off had a heat shield on the starter for the solenoid . The new starter didnt do u think this might be a issue later ? Should I look for something to protect it .

Take the heat shield off the old starter, put it on the new one.

When I replaced my full-size starter with a GM permanent-magnet, gear-reduction (PMGR) starter, I adapted the original heat shield to work on the new, smaller starter. It doesn't look pretty, but it works.
