Looking at my year truck on rock auto almost all, if not all, outer tie rods have a castle nut , even the $4 one. The inners, including AC Delco, have either an all metal lock nut or the cheaper ones have a nylock. Ya got the right parts in the right place?? Innie's where the outie's should be?

If you still hate Nyloks, a good all metal lock nut would be an excellent choice in Grade 5 or Grade 8. Metric 8.8.

I'd skip the metric 8.8. Most GM hardware is 10.9 and a bit if it is 9.8.

Funny, I just cleaned up my 8 GM 15016879 bed bolts. Most are 9.8, but a few are 10.9.

Lol they already use plastic "bearing material" in tie rod ends. Careful what you wish for!

I should just avoid suspension threads. My truck has 350K miles on the all original front end components besides wheel bearings and shocks.

I never knew the correct name for that style was a Stover nut. It's an educational day! Thanks.
