Hey guys my 1999 Chevy k3500 needs a face lift. The lights are yellow and fogged. Any suggestions for new assembly and bright (legal) bulbs? I use this truck to pull a camper so not looking to overly modify, just wanting to best way to increase visibility.

I hear the spyder headlights are good. They're glass, so they won't haze or turn yellow.

The best mod for dim headlights, is to add relays rite off of the battery. You use the original wiring to trigger a relay that then feeds the headlights from a bigger wire. This will improve your light out put tremendously. The original headlight wires are small, and dont carry the current needed as they get old. I used a 10 ga wire on mine, but a 12 ga wire is big enough. Also you will want to use stranded wire. While your at it, you may as well get another relay and do the 4 high headlight mod. I did this on my 97 first. Once I saw how bright my headlights were on high ( feed from a relay rite off of my battery ( fused of course) ) I then added a second relay just for the dim lights and used the OE dim wire to switch the relay on. Here are a few links to help you.

As for the headlight housings, I just keep mine buffed out. I sanded mine with some 400 wet sand paper, then polish buffed them out. The kits you get at antozone or orileys work. Here are a few pics of mine and my wiring.

As mentioned, relays will help eliminate voltage drop and dramatically increase brightness.

For 100% legal bulbs, Philips X-tremeVision +100s are the brightest on the market but a little hard to find in stores.

9005s (high beam):

9006s (low beam):

If you want something that's more common and can be found in parts stores or WalMarts, Sylvania XtraVisions are another good option.

As for the brightest headlight assemblies, either Spyder HD-YD-CCK88-C if you want glass lenses, or Anzo 111004 if you prefer plastic.

I still am happy with the anzo's i put in a couple years ago. I have factory wiring and cheap bulbs and they do pretty good. Now you guys are making me want to upgrade the wires and add the relays, but as little as I drive it that may be a far future project.
