Im in the disassembly phase and im wondering If I have to completely remove the accessory bracket to get the old manifold off? I ask that because this bracket is tied into the power steering pump and wedged between it and the motor.

It sucks but Yes you do.

i rented a power steering pully puller, pulled that and could reach a bottom bolt for that black bracket you see in the photo and romoved that bracket. i actually cut off that "leg" an the right of that bracket because the header flange is so much thinner

The guy that had the truck before me, he just cut that bracket so he didnt have to take it off.

Well Ive driven the truck 50k+ miles with it like that, and I can only guess how long its been driven like that before I had it, and everything is fine.
