Thank you for the link and info.
I still have not got the tuneup done as it is running fine since the ecu was changed, So working on more important things first.
I will make an effort to get that reading again for you later today.

Here is the reading you asked for. KOEO before start up.
I dont know what the ambient outside temp was but it's 45 out now so i imagine it was close to 41 when i took the reading.

Nice! In reply #78 you had a 11° discrepancy between the coolant and intake air temps, and now they
are in perfect agreement. And since the IAT was accurate last time, and now they both agree, I'm thinking
that you are good to go. It's good to see that the sensors can actually agree, and one more data point
showing the new ECU was a win.

Thanks for taking the time to share the post-fix readings.

Cheers --

I did not take a pic of the other side of the ecu circuit board but it was way worse than the top? (posted pic).
It was bridged all over the place with that white fluffy stuff and it had a little of the green crusties going on.
I certainly don't mind posting wins/fails as thats some of why we are here.

Got the old cap rotor changed today and it was not pretty. Surprised i had no misfires after see the inside.
I wanted to see what the phasing thing was all about so i hogged out a couple holes in the old cap and put it back on. From what i could tell it looked like the spark was jumping less than a 1/8 inch at idle and when revving it up before the posts. It does jump maybe 1/2 inch returning to idle after the posts.
I assume that is good from the few videos i have seen about it. My CMP is 0°
Any way new cap/rotor on. here is the old one.

Finally, got the rear differential rebuilt today. New ring and pinion, bearings.
Still noisy though around 40 to 55mph. Way better than it was for sure. Maybe it will quiet down after it's ran a while?
Super nice guy. Showed me pictures of the pattern after it was done and from the pics it looked very good. (I was at work)
He went further and said since he could not fix the original complaint (noisy diff needs rebuilt) he would not charge me anything.
I told him he was the first honest shop i had been too in 2 years so I gave him $100 anyway as he did have time and effort into it.
He also said being an aluminum driveshaft the noise could be coming from the transmission 4L60E and the driveshaft could be magnifying the trans noise. He was not sure though but a possibility.
I have no idea if that can happen or not?
Anyway, it is definitely better now. It went from a very loud howl to a very tolerable low hum.
Next time i need a shop to work on my vehicle, thats where im going.

Finally did some electrical work today. Before started i check the voltage at the battery (14.5v) running at idle. Also checked at a cigarette lighter 13.3v at the same time.
Started by replacing the battery with a new top post AGM.
I also replaced the main fuse box power cable under the hood with 1 awg welding cable.
At some point i think the main fuse box power wire had a fusible link installed. I got rid of that and replaced it with a 175A fuse like just about every other chevy i have had has.
Also replaced the alternator charge wire. Was about an 8 awg wire? with a fusible link. I replaced it with a 6 awg wire.
Also installed a 30A breaker for the Renology 20 amp DC-DC charger for the 2 LiFePo4 100AH house batteries.

Forgot pics. Nothing special.
Forgot to mention after. The voltage is @ idle 14.6 at battery and 14.5 at cigarette lighter.

Here is the reason for the circuit breaker new the battery I added. It will feed the 20A DC-DC battery charger that will charge the house batteries.
The house batteries with run a 2000w Renology inverter, 12v fridge/freezer, LED lights, 12v LED outdoor lights. Few other things i have not thought of in sure.

Have i mentioned i HATE working with wood:suicide:

Few interior pics of my progress. It is usable now but a long way from being done. I plan on covering the box and drawer in marine vinyl but will wait till it's about the last thing to do. Still need to get some wiring done and order a 12V tv for watching movies or videos if raining.
Bed measures 71X50 so i can almost stretch out, wife can without a problem.
Sure hope all this work makes camping easier.
