Unless you just happen to have a set of 5.25" speakers laying around I wouldn't bother. That extra inch and a quarter isn't going to translate to any real gains, 4" or 5.25" don't hit bass notes very well in my experience.

They are, he just put bigger ones in there as a result of his custom mounting brackets.

This^^^^^. I wanted round speakers instead of oval because, supposedly, they transmit the sound better. I did have to shave off a little bit of material but can put 4x6's if i want to go back to stock

Got them installed today, Fit nearly perfect. Thanks again df2x4 for the adaptor link. They sound great!
