I have a 94 K1500 SWB stepside and I need to replace the front differential case that has 3:73 gears. I found a case from a 2004 GMC Yukon. Would this case from a different year and model truck work in my truck? It does have the correct gear ratio I need.

If not what examples should I be looking for, since I am having a hard time finding an exact match. Thanks.

GMT800 differentials are different from GMT400s, theyre not a guaranteed direct bolt in. If I remember right, the pass side mount is at a different angle than ours.
Get one from the correct year range, meaning one that has (or had from new) an OE TLA and a position sensor pigtail.

Hollanderparts.com you should be able to find one to bolt in from a local bone yard... or get one shipped to you.
