Engine Overhaul

The problem is finding an engine that is actually in good running condition....when the first one went out i bought a used one for $500 plus cost of replacing gaskets and spark plugs and ignition cables. I wont have to buy new spark plugs and ignition cables this time if i go the used route. However my used engine starting using oil almost immediately after install and started knocking even though I kept sufficient amount of oil in it. Plus I ran royal purple synthetic in it.

The budget is so tight because I bought the truck and a month later it was knocking. Then I replaced engine with a used one. It goes out maybe 3 months later. I dont want to put the time and money into a used engine if its just gonna go out a few months later.
