Diesel sound when blipping throttle

I'm at a job and reversed with a quick blip of throttle and heard a diesel sounding knocking. Not really a knock but diesel sound coming from engine bay...Top if guessing. Did it blipping throttle forward too. Held brake and blipped throttle and can duplicate it pretty often....
Any ideas what to look at when I get home???

did just get gas at racetrac...been running chevron the previous tank and sunoco 2 tanks prior....nah...

Hmmm...just caught the cts reading 24c consistently....
Wonder if that's been my bouncing/bucking feeling at highway speeds too....
Will know soon enough... Thing is stuck in there good iirc...

What engine?

Your sig says 1993 so I assume its a TBI but we shouldn't have to guess.

If its a 6.2 or 6.5 then I'd say everything is normal, lol.

Looks like cts must have helped. Everything strong now..
Didn't help my new bouncy feeling ride at 60mph +... Need to check my front... CV axles been spewing for some time... Maybe the 2 year old top tier Detroit Axle wheel bearings...

yup...was driver's side wheel bearing ... nice....got 2 years out of it.....
