If you're going to go with a Chevy 44 then you'll either need to find a 90's blazer transfer case or you're going to need an old style devoriced transfer case. The Chevy 44's are passenger drop and your stock t-case is drivers drop.

my truck is 2wd, so I was planning on pass drop anways. chevy axles are cheaper here in az than ford axles. plus I plan on bolting in a nv4500 too so the t/c is no problem for me. I found a flat top knuckle D44 chevy for 100 bucks. out of a 75 k5. I hope the guy calls me back soon.lol

If you dont want a ford axle then any front chev axle will work, either dana 44 or corp 10 bolt. The d44 will be the only one with the flattop driverside knuckle. 6 or 8 lug is no realy differnce from the knuckles in.

Don't you have a 4l60e..? Then just a NP241 from a early 90's blazer (2door tahoe)

Sounds like you found the right axle, assuming your keeping 6-lug. Pre 77 D44 6-lug axles are a smaller spindle. If your going 8-lug you'll have to swap them out, no big deal really.

If you run your 4l60E you'll need a 27 spline input pass drop NP241, 32 spline if you run the NV4500. The 32 spline p-drops are a little harder to fine, or you can find a 27 spline and swap the input from either a driver or passenger drop 241 in it.
