Just curious if anyone has used this axle in their trucks. I have a 97 2dr tahoe that I plan to do a solid axle swap. I have a 79 f250, 8 lug front axle. I was planning on buying a NBS 2500HD for the motor, trans and rear axle. The nice thing is the 2500HD rear axle is the same lug pattern as the ford dana 44 I have for the front so I could use the front axle as it is and just get wheels for a 2500HD. Plus I get disc brakes. Basically ill have a 3/4 ton 2dr tahoe. Any thoughts?

Yep, those ford truck front axles are the ones people use for SAS in our trucks because of the drivers side offset diff.

They came in Dana 44 and Dana 60. Are you sure its a Dana 44 and not a 60? The 60's usually had the 8-lug and the 44s had the 5-lug.

Its from a 79 F-250 then it's 8 lug. Could have gotten either axle in a 3/4 ton, just how it was ordered. I have 3 44s and 1 60, all 78/79s....
