The G80 carriers are weaker than the open carriers. Why not an aftermarket locker like a Detroit?

don't the detroit use clutchs? the tru-trac uses straight gears, nothing to wear out, its what they use in military vehicles

Locker don't use clutches to lock, though I have seen a locker with LSD clutches so it doesn't go from open to just locker. Tru-trac isn't that great. It's the least bad off the shelf option for my Camaro and at the moment I'm looking for a custom diff to avoid it. I had a more aggressive T2R and even that wasn't what I'd call good.
