Not hard, just changed mine yesterday. Pump thermostat and hoses. Little time and all good

be glad its not a 6.5, you need to remove the timing cover on those to change pumps

Def water pump. Dont forget you'll have to rent the fan clutch removal tool if you dont already have one. You can also jerry rig it off but tool rental is free at most auto parts strores.

Ok changed it not problems except the drain **** on rad. broke. pull radiator change out no prob. i drove about 50 miles up until i had to leave for work. theres a wreck on the freeway im stopped and engine starts to overheat. After 2 miles of no exits because all are under construction, and the motors at blowing point by this time. a trucker is yelling at me that my coolant is spilling onto the ground. i pull over and my lower radiator hose has come off....WTF. its always someting with this damn truck.

ok happened again today even after i replaced the spring clamp with a regular hose clamp. what could be causing this?

I'd replace the hose.

If trans fluid was to get on or in the hose could it ruin the rubber?

It would definitely make it easy to slide off.
