Quick visual inspection of the OEM vs. ****** Aftermarket mounts leads me to think the aftermarket steel housings are stamped from metal 1/2 as thick.So, you got 300,000+ miles out of the factory mounts, and you're upset the aftermarket went cheaper? While they do look flimsier, I wouldn't have a problem running them. How many times have we heard of them breaking? Truly asking here, because I haven't heard of it.
I get into a collision, I don't want the engine ripping out of it's place and coming to visit me in the passenger compartment because the mount shells let go.
Far as I'm concerned, the aftermarket mounts are a SAFETY HAZARD, but not necessarily a functional problem. MAYBE they're a functional issue--I don't trust Communist Chinese rubber. Look what they've done to tires and wiper blades.
