I got a chance to buy a 95 heavy half ton with a 6.5 with turbo has a little over 200000 on it ex cab long box all power options body n inside is about perfect for $3000 kelly blue book says $4000 for privite sale ive heard the 6.5 r junk not worth it lots of problems is there any truth to it or is it a deal any help would be great thanks...

I've heard people on here say the 6.5 is a bad engine because they constantly need repairs. Maybe he will chime in soon.

I personally love the 6.5. It's no Cummins or Dmax, but with proper maintenance and a little common sense it will last a long time. I've owned 3 of them at various times and my current one just clicked 270k on the clock and has never been opened up.

They were a lot better when diesel was cheaper than gasoline though....

If you can get it for low enough (2500 range), Id buy it and throw in a Cummins drivetrain
