hello from napanee ontario canada,
i have not owned a gmt400 since 2008 when i had my 1989 rclb 4x4 5.0, that was a great truck, but didnt have the space i needed with the 3 kids. so it was sold to a young guy... like i was when i bought it, so i gave him a good deal.

so since then i bought a 2008 gmc z71 crew cab which i still have but the new woman has claimed it as her own after she let her avalanche go. So to cure my truck withdrawl i bought a rust free 2001 GMC 2500hd 2wd what a blast, the 6.0 and 4:10 gear , that truck was fast! for me anyways , it smoked the 2008 5.3.

anyways sold the 2500hd because it was worth 3x what i paid for it and i needed an 8 passenger vehicle and anything with the word minivan wasnt going to cut it.
A month ago i bought a 1995 suburban 4x4 with 380k, body is good and interior is ok.
anyways plan is to find a cheap 2001 2500 hd and swap the drive train for the 6.0 and 4l80 and maybe even the 14bolt rear as long as i can find a front diff to match the gear set.
the 350tbi is a dog, and my 2500 hd could pull my 18ft flatbed trailer loaded like there was nothing behing it and didnt even use any differnce in fuel 14-15 mpg the 5.7 tbi seems terrible.
any help or links to this swap would be great.

Don't know of any 6.0 swaps on here. Troll around you may find a few 5.3 swap owners you could chat up for some tech info and ideas. Hope you find what you need here we are always glad to help!
