I have a 97 1500.
When I put the new deck in, it switched on and off with the key just fine. About a week later it just stayed on all the time.

Is there a relay used to switch the power, or is it controlled by the ignition alone?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it is hot with ignition on, circuit 43, yellow wire. Disconnect it and see if you have voltage at cavity 9 with ignition off. If no voltage, then I’d say it’s a radio issue.

This may sound stupid, but I just had a kenwood do this in mine. I'd have the truck off, the radio would look like it was off (black screen), but there'd still be sound through the speakers. I ended up pulling the faceplate, and pressing the little reset button on the actual radio behind the face plate and this solved my problem. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the idea, I'll give it a shot!
