Trying to charge my ac on 96 Tahoe. Really checking system. I added a little r134a and clutch engages and seems like it’s operational as it should. Mind you that I don’t have gauges on it except wot for ac pro. It would jump up to red line when clutch engages them down to white when disengaged?

My 93 is a different story. Last year I replaced everything And it was working for a bout two weeks then it blew out the pressure switch?

I don't know what that means.

Put real gauges on it.

Doesn't sound good. But I have no idea what "red line" you're talking about.

Overcharged
Under-cooled (faulty condenser)
Too much A/C oil
Plugged orifice or screen

Almost certainly had too-high pressure.

I suppose it could be a faulty switch.
