hello
looking to rebuild the throttle body, thought of getting new injectors but there are so many types.
what goes for 95 suburban k2500 MT1 with federal emissions and above 8500 gvw emissions?
read somewhere that there's 61, 65 and 68 flow rates.

p.s- is there a site you can look up parts by VIN? all the gm parts suppliers have very partial info.

thanks

What's wrong with the throttle body, and the injectors you have now?

First Guess: Drop a 20 oz bottle of Techron (or equivalent, but Techron is probably the best stuff available) in the gas tank before filling the tank, to clean the injectors. Spray some carb cleaner down the IAC passage to clean the idle system. Replace the fuel filter. Connect a scan tool, verify TPS and IAC motor--and all the rest of the sensors especially the O2 sensor. Drive around like normal until you've emptied the tank. Ideally, you'd verify fuel pressure, and assure that all the "normal" tune-up stuff is in good condition--spark plugs, PCV system, cap, rotor, plug wires, air filter, ignition timing, etc.

Done.

That doesn’t sound like a logical reason to blame the throttle body.

what is the smell of? Rotten eggs? Gassy? Sweet?

1. Catalytic converter is almost certainly junk.

2. How old is the O2 sensor?

3. What is the fuel pressure?

4. How old are the spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, etc? What is the initial timing? Do you have reasonable cranking compression on all cylinders?

5. Connect a scan tool, look at the data stream. O2 voltage, O2 crosscounts, engine coolant temperature, MAP sensor would be the main things to look at--but verify reasonable readings from ALL the sensors and outputs. Does the spark advance work?

"Rich smell" is generally due to engine misfire, including "lean misfire". This is more likely to be "tune-up" related than "throttle-body" related.

Rich smell....is this after it's started engine still cold?

Or after it's been ran awhile?

Change out the 'cooling temp sensor' on the front of the intake manifold. The O2 sensor adjusts trim fuel.

And Schurkey, you're absolutely correct with China. No country should be doing business with a nation that leads the way in human rights violations and is communist. No one. They should be treated no differently than North Korea or Iran. IOW....******* step child treatment.

spark plugs and wires are new, the other things i don't know.
