I found the answer for the mess of pass through wires on this forum. Heat from a heat gun turns the block of wires into sticky goo. Let it sit a few minutes and the goo turns into putty. The wire separator is reusable and the wires don't have to be cut if you are needing to reuse them. Wear throw away gloves. That stuff gets sticky.
