Have you checked and or done your trans fluid and filter? Rear end fluid? Oil change (didn't notice if you mentioned already did that or not)?

I tend to change ALL fluids in any new to me vehicle as I never know the "true" maintenance history of a used vehicle. Then I make a maintenance book for the vehicle... when ever I do things I write date, mileage, and what I did....

Not necessarily power related but.. check your wheel bearings aswell as if they are bad they will create drag/resistance... other then that you have done everything else for the most part..

Ordered more fluid for the NV4500. I have Amsoil in the rear and new wheel bearings and rotors ordered.

Mobile 1 and wix XP filter on it.

Still flushing coolant but it's getting clearer.

I want to add an oil cooler bigger filter (has 4x4 adapter on a 2wd) and maybe some external Trans cooling and finned pto covers.

The truck still starts hard cold. Takes pumping the pedal and keep your foot on the throttle for about 5-10 sec before it clears up and holds steady. This is in the mornings. After it's ran it just takes a quick push of the pedal to fire it up.

I know 350's don't have a lot of power and my 97 k1500 350 used to down shift on every hill with 3.73's and 285/75's but should a single cab Dually with 4.10's and a 5 speed on 235/85's need to down shift the same?

I really thought 4.10's would make the 350 feel somewhat better.

Nope. Not really... gear ratios are different in autos and manuals.... and tire size differances throws it off even more.. comparing apples to oranges....

And... 3.73 to 4.10 really isn't that big of a jump to make huge notable differences

NV4500 is .75:1

4l80 is .72:1

4l80 is .7:1 I irrc

So 4.10 NV4500 is the lowest ratio available unless you drop in 4.56

Thanks! Good info. Hopefully that will help my starting issue if there is something off in there.

I know heated 02's would help cold idle but the rough cold start seems like it should be something else.
