I use the 88 and 99 like trucks, but rarely the 02. The 02 has had limited things in the bed. Once a streetbike, and once a load of firewood. Currently it has a bunch of moving boxes under the tonneau cover at my parents place.

I can really appreciate seeing a nice looking truck being used like a truck should, especially your 88, all the money you have in that thing, and you still use it for towing, hauling, etc.

My buddies dad is the kind of guy that gets a new truck every time a new body style is introduced, he bought a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500, CCSB Stealth Gray Metallic with 0 miles (ordered it) and he uses it to haul fire wood back and fourth from the woods, my only gripe is he puts a ********* aluminum old man topper on it

That topper does serve a lot of purposes though, I actually think it is a bunk sleeper topper, used for hunting trips.

My ideal situation would be a long box with a tool box that didn't go all the way to the floor so I could put a sheet of plywood or a stick of 8' lumber in there with the bed closed but I have the volume of a short box still.

I have that setup and i don't like it. It never seems big enough to me. But since i have a standard cab i do like the extra storage. I could not imagine loading up a short bed the way i load up my long bed. Some would say that i overload but i tie it down well and drive cautiously. Regardless of what or how much you haul, Safety is #1

And to 88, like always nice job and great taste. If i ever make it down by you be sure to have a lawn chair set up by your trucks and a cooler so i can sit back and throw back cold ones all day.

Again, awsome thread. What did you ever figure out with your dog? Or did I miss that part?

At least you caught it and your taking care of it, most people would let it continue to happen until they were stranded.

So, that was yesterday. Today the waterpump and rest of the cooling system came out. Every motor piece that came out has also been cleaned and inspected. There are no apparent cracks in the cylinder bores, just that scoring. The heads look pretty good, with the exception of a few small cracks between intake and exhaust valves

More gaskets come in tomorrow, going to re-install the waterpump and some of the cooling system.
